This week our senior tamariki have been learning about the different political parties that are standing for the election this year and have gone through the process of voting for their preferred candidate and party. We will publish the results from our tamariki alongside the national results next week. This all ties in nicely with our process for nominations and voting for the Year 6 KORAU Award that will be presented at Year 6 Graduation this year.
"On Tuesday 10 October, Room 15 and other senior classes did an election. Whaea Liz asked some people in the room if they wanted to be on the Māori roll or general roll. Three people chose to be on the Māori roll. I was an Electorate Manager, that means I had to help people if they needed it and make sure they were away from each other and not cheating. It was a very busy day."

"On Tuesday 10 October, I became an Issuing Officer for the room election! It was so much fun, BUT there’s a lot of work going into being an Issuing Officer, like making sure that everyone knows what to do, making it clear that they CANNOT doodle on it and much more. It was a fun but busy day."

Update 18 September 2023
Last week some of our senior tamariki took part in the kids voting that ran alongside the general election. They researched the parties and policies and voted for who they thought would best represent our country. Below are the results from our tamariki and the results from the national election. It is really interesting to see the focus of our future generation and what is important to them at the moment based on their votes.
