On Friday morning the firetruck from the Stokes Valley Fire Station paid the Kauri Team a visit. It was very exciting. All the children got to sit inside the truck while the firefighters explained how things worked and what they do. They then got to look at the hoses and equipment stored in the sides of the truck. At the end of the visit, each child was given a chance to squirt water from a firehose. Low pressure of
course. That looked like fun.
The children from the Kauri Team impressed the firefighters with their knowledge about what to do in a fire. Shout "FIRE! FIRE!" and GET OUT FAST! And... STAY OUT!
Be Firewise is a great unit and the children have learned a lot.
