HUGE THANK YOU 2023

We would like to say a huge thank you to Aaron Ripia, Tipene’s grandfather, for so generously giving his time to upgrade 12 scooters and donate them to our school for our tamariki (and staff) to share and use around the school. These scooters, along with the bikes we already have, provide opportunities for those without a set of wheels to get active and join in activities with other during break times. We also thank Bruce for maintaining and organizing the bikes and scooters every day. Our tamariki are lucky to have such wonderful staff and community support.

SCOOTER SAFETY 2022

All the children in Years 1 to 4 took part in Scooter Safety training. The instructors brought in a large quantity of fold-up scooters which were made available for the 6 classes to use. They also provided helmets for everyone to put on. A wide range of skills were taught, including: little feet, stop slow-stop fast, gliding and indicating.

The children had a lot of fun practicing these skills. They also discussed how to keep safe on a scooter, especially on footpaths where cars crossed into drivewaysThe sessions were very enjoyable and informative for all. Hopefully we will see the scooter instructors back next year.

SCOOTER TRACK OPENING

Our scooter track opening was a wonderful event. The children get so much exercise and even consider it fun!!!

It also makes a great running track for those not so dry seasons.
As part of the preparation for the opening we ran scooter safety training sessions.
