JUNIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS

NOVEMBER JUNIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS

The Juniors across the school held their annual Sports Day on Wednesday 8th November. The emphasis was on participation and having fun. There were 6 activities and 6 mixed teams - Room 1 through to Room 12. Each team rotated through the activities. There was a lot of support from the very good crowd of spectators. The activities included; high jump, standing jump, obstacles, sprints, javelin and discus and bean bag toss. All were thoroughly enjoyed. We had a lovely day weatherwise - not too hot or windy. Amazing!

PREVIOUS FESTIVAL OF ATHLETICS

Wow! What beautiful weather and what an awesome festival of athletics and fun we had.

It was wonderful to see so many families come along and watch their children participate in all the activities. These included: High Jump, Standing Jump, Sprints and Relays, Obstacle races, Vortex, Frisbee and Quoits and Beanbag Throw. The children rotated around these 6 activities in teams. The emphasis was on participation, encouragement - and having fun, which it certainly looked like they were having!

Here are some comments from different children throughout the Junior School.

“I really liked the High Jump because I could jump high”

“The vortex made a whooshing sound”

“I ran fast in the sprints”

“The obstacle course was really fun”

A big thank you to all the helpers; both on the day and also in the practice rounds.

SENIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS

NORTHERN ZONE ATHLETICS

On Tuesday, we had a group of our senior tamariki represent Koraunui School at the Northern Zone athletics held at the Hutt Rec.  They had a great day competing against the other schools. The sun was shining and KORAU values were on full display. Well done everyone who competed and a big thank you to the parents who helped.
